Finally, I got a song done. Gabe and I tracked it on Saturday, with drum consultation by Reba and bass lines channeled from Pat. I mixed it Sunday, it's definitely my best home recording yet, for whatever THAT'S worth.
Fear And Loathing In The OX1
[download here]
slow down don't move so fast
this year too will pass
turn your heart on a dime
and think of oxford one last time
michaelmas term we all were drunk
hilary term I almost flunked
trinity term down the road
and then I graduate from this post code
the work we do is never done
fear and loathing in the OX1
my fingers are broken my mind is numb
fear and loathing in the OX1
pause at this time next year
remember parties and fear
towers subfusc and rowing crews
where the cobbled backstreets call out to you
michaelmas term...
What's really great is that in the process of finishing this song, protools managed to completely destroy my computer. While it was admittedly going downhill anyway, I now have to reinstall windows, etc. And of course I don't have the product key for my install disk. So, I'll be using Reba's computer for a few days. And, I will be finding the next recording package I will use from here on out: protools and digidesign and avid can all kiss my ass. :(
